This move has been around a while now but I avoided it until I saw the entry into it that I'm teaching in this video. I feel no pain from it and it is not scary for me to do it this way. Hopefully if you have tried the traditional way and found it too painful you will enjoy this method more.
If you want more details about any pole tutorial or video private lessons are available. Text 410 868 7957 for more details.

I have had my right and left splits for over 10 years but when it came to my middle splits I always fell short. I never spent the time I needed to on them to make them happen. For one thing I was focused on the wrong muscles. While there are some of the same muscles used for all splits for the most part the middle split muscles are completely separate from the front-to-back splits. This meant that working front-to-back splits was doing nothing for my middle splits.
I finally listened to what I'd read many times. Splits are about strengthening your muscles at the end of your range of motion. It doesn't matter how far your range is, take it to the end and strengthen there. Safely.
This video is a result of six months of progress of a new stretching program. It is progress in chronological order only, no background moves; those will come in another video.

This is the half split seat.
I forget to mention that when you lean down you lean to the side of the leg this wrapped around the pole, the bent leg. If you try to lean with your body on the side of the pole that is your straight leg that is a completely different move, I'm not sure what.
This is also kind of a precursor to the blacksun split. The reason I say this is because if you can get comfortable with that forward lean and pulling your straight leg higher than your torso that is half the battle of blacksun split.
But picture this move with those angel wings people have worn on stage and the whole move is transformed.
I give private lessons and in home training sessions. Text 410 868 7957 or message for a consultation.
