Soul poling: Pole tricks, strength moves and other things worth waiting for

Everyone is different, what one enthusiast loves to see a performer do on a pole another's attitude about the same performance could be "meh".  Having said that this is more “stuff” I have been working on that I personally like to see my own body do on a pole.

The straight grip dead lift at 2:05 is a move I saw a lady at a club do in early 2010. A little later that year a fitness poler put out a video showcasing her doing the same flag lift. And if you are wondering yes, straight grip dead lift is more challenging than the cup grip dead lift performed at the very beginning of the video.

Men seem to have an easier time with this one due to their natural upper body strength. Good for them. The satisfaction I felt at finally achieving that feat after years of wanting, wishing, and working can't be felt by one who does it the first time they try it.

The allegra pole move starting around 1:36 is one I didn’t even have the back flexibility to bother with until a few months ago. Same with the cocoon move earlier in the video. I put both on hold until I felt like it was worth the effort to try again.

I was watching a documentary on happiness and it said that of the contributing factors for happiness you can control, physical movement provided the fastest and most consistent path to happiness because of the dopamine release.

I can't say this enough: find something physical you like to do and do it often; even if it's not pole.
