This is called the devil's point shuffle. It's a great workout and a cool way to make sure you are working both sides of your body. It takes you from one side of the pole to the other so you must be able to invert on both sides. Ultimately the moves required are outside leg hang > genie > inside leg hang but how to get there takes a little finesse. I do these tutorials for the home polers who have no access to a studio. If you would like a video consult get in touch with me by texting 410 868 7957 or send a message via the contact form on the site or the messenger icon/app.
This is called the floating star pole dance tutorial. It's a stand alone pose but can be made into another pose with a small shift. Be mindful of your shoulders; it is helpful to make sure you are very warmed up and you have practiced having your shoulder behind the pole while you are still on the ground so you know that your shoulder can handle it in the air. As always listen to your body and if it hurts, don't do it. You will notice I only show how to do this with my left shoulder back. My right would not tolerate this pose at the time of shooting. It is still in recovery. I offer private lessons in pole, floor work/dance and stretching for splits. Text or call 410 868 7957 for more information.
In last week's blog post I shared the broken doll pole move and said I was sure it was created because it was on the way to an other pole move. This is that other pole move. The jalegra is a combination of a jade split with the alegra arm behind the pole. The first time I ever tried this I failed because I didn't realize that you have to hook your bottom arm first and you have to be in inside leg hang pose to get your arm around the pole in the first place. The arm hook is just the first part though. Check out the video to see where to go next. I have a few slots available for private lessons.
