The book calls this the standing split which I would have thought was standing on the floor and pulling your leg into the air to make a split. (I'll have to see if they have a name for that.) The 1st time I ever did this was NYE 16 into 17. It was Saturday night and I decided it was going to be a pole party NYE. I haven't done it since and tried it just for this tutorial. This is on a 50 mm pole which for my small hands means it's more technique than the strength for the ability to hold on. A smaller pole may be easier to work with but these tips will probably still help even with a pole your hand wraps well around. Private lessons available. This one came out about 5 years ago or so… Original entry is with a thread through but that is so hard to do in heels for some (could definitely be a flexibility issue; or it could be these days the shoes are really flippin big) so this is a way to do it so you don't have to thread through. |
